The Giving Tree

“Be The Light”
The Holidays are a time to be grateful for all of the blessings we have in our lives.  Every single day we are horrified and sickened by news of  random acts of violence. From the terrorist attacks in Paris to the mass shooting in California it seems the violence just never ends. But we don’t have to live in the darkness that this evil perpetrates. We can “Be The Light” that shines through it. We can all be a little kinder to each other and spread our light through daily acts of kindness and generosity.
For several years now during this blessed season  La Vie Est Belle places a “Giving Tree” in the boutique with one of a kind pieces hanging from the branches. This year all proceeds from Giving Tree purchases will benefit the National Center for Victims of Crime. Wendy has chosen a special star shaped pearl design with 2 or 4 Shining Stars and an All Around bracelet sparkling with one of a kind star shaped pearls.
The National Center for Victims of Crime is important to me because on the night before Mother’s Day in May of this year,  I was a victim of a random act of violence, I was shot in the head, by a mentally disturbed person* with a shot gun .  I suffered hundreds of pellet wounds to my face and upper body, my lung collapsed, and I endured many eye surgeries.  I am happy to say that today, 7 months later, I am 100% recovered. My eye was saved and  I look at life with a greater appreciation and am thankful that I can allow my own light to keep shining brightly. Emotional support from my family and friends made my road to recovery easier but the financial support of the National Center  for Victims of Crime allowed my husband to take the time we needed off from work to help me get back on my feet. I want to make sure that this financial assistance continues to be available to all victims of violent crime. It made a lot of difference for me!
We ask that you take a look at La Vie Est Belle’s 2015 “Giving Tree”.
Our world is full of too much violence, hate and war but you can
“BE THE LIGHT”. Help those affected by violence. Because, life is STILL, and always will be…. beautiful.
Have a joyful and blessed Christmas filled with love and light,
For those of you who don’t know me,  I am Wendy’s sister. She, as well as Jean Noel, Violet and Zak are a daily inspiration to me as I write this blog and manage the Social Media and Marketing for
*The person who shot me is behind bars and will be sentenced to 7 years in maximum security prison in January. My family and I feel that justice has been served.
